“Kuroshio Frontier” Winner of the MJHA Dissertation Prize

I am excited and truly humbled to learn that my PhD Dissertation has been selected by the Modern Japan History Association (MJHA) as the winner of the 2024 dissertation prize.

The piece has been 6+ years in the making… thank you to the MJHA selection committee, thanks to my resourceful dissertation committee, and thanks especially to my brilliant friends and colleagues at Harvard and around the world who kept providing me with the inspiration and stamina necessary to pull this all off!
